The meaning of the term “Sheepdog” was originally coined by Lt. Col. David Grossman in his book On Combat, which was published in 2004. The term has since been adopted by combat military personnel, and police officers across the nation.
“Most of the people in our society are sheep. They are kind, gentle, productive creatures who can only hurt one another by accident. Then there are the wolves, and the wolves feed on the sheep without mercy. Then there are sheepdogs, and I’m a sheepdog. I live to protect the flock and confront the wolf.”
– Lt. Colonel David Grossman, U.S. Army (Ret.)

*** Charities We Support ***
We donate a portion of the proceeds from our sales to the law enforcement community. We have chosen to donate a percentage of Hometown Guardian product sales to Concerns of Police Survivors “C.O.P.S.” and the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund “NLEOMF”. Both organizations offer support to the families of officers, who were killed in the line of duty. Additionally, a portion of all American flag product sales will be donated to the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund – a charitable organization that offers support for the families of military personnel lost in service to our nation, and for severely wounded military personnel and veterans.
“We are dedicated to all the men and women, who place their lives on the line every day to protect those who cannot protect themselves. We honor those who have paid the ultimate price, while serving their hometowns, and their country. Godspeed.”
