Rob Janzer is a veteran police officer in South Florida. He comes from a long line of police officers, firefighters, and veterans. Rob’s grandfather, Sgt. William Janzer helped found a South Florida police department nearly 60 years ago.
Rob’s grandfather, Joe fought in Europe during World War II, where he served in the U.S. Army. His Uncles Luke and Bob served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. Rob’s Cousin Scott is a retired Division Chief from a South Florida fire department. His Cousin Ron is also a retired South Florida firefighter. Additionally, several of Rob’s cousins have served or are currently serving in various branches of the Armed Forces, and have proudly helped fight the war on terrorism.
Today, Rob serves his hometown in South Florida, where he was born and raised. During his tenure with his hometown police department, he has served as road patrol officer, field force team member, honor guard member, motorman, traffic homicide investigator, and field training officer. Rob was promoted to detective in 2009, where he served in many investigative units to include auto theft, burglary, arson, general investigations, and economic crimes. In 2016 Rob was promoted to the rank of Sergeant, where he is currently assigned to the Road Patrol Division of his Department.
Rob founded Hometown Guardians with two fundamental principles – to honor fallen law enforcement officers, and to increase public support of law enforcement nationwide.
“We are dedicated to all the men and women, who place their lives on the line every day to protect those who cannot protect themselves. We honor those who have paid the ultimate price, while serving their hometowns, and their country. Godspeed.”
